Get United

Times certainly have changed since H.D. Snell opened his first store in Sayre, Oklahoma, back in 1916. There are 50 stores now under three distinct brands: United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United. Almost one million guests shop those stores every week in 30 cities all across west and north Texas.

And, while you'll notice some differences from one store to the next, one thing is always the same: United Supermarkets still embodies the philosophy of its founder - quality, value, guest service and community involvement. We believe our growth and success are tied to our unwavering commitment to service - to our guests, team members and communities.

The United "spirit" flourishes in the attitudes and enthusiasm of our over 10,000 team members, who keep alive H.D. Snell's principles of honest pricing, quality and freshness, outstanding selection, uncompromising integrity, unparalleled guest service and community involvement.

UCrew

It takes everyone being involved to make a community great, and with United team members, involvement truly is "from the Heart." UCrew, the company's award-winning community outreach program, organizes volunteer United team members to provide community service in every United neighborhood.

Each store's UCrew team conducts service activities each year. These activities can be in support of any local charity or church-affiliated organization. UCrew teams have been called upon for such activities as helping to build Habitat for Humanity houses, feeding the needy, working at charitable fundraising events, cleaning up neighborhoods and highways, and assisting local schools in many different ways.

Created by Co-President Matt Bumstead, the program has four major purposes:

  • To provide team members with opportunities to get involved in and serve their local communities.
  • To increase United Supermarkets' ability to give back to its communities.
  • To provide team members with the opportunity to strengthen relationships with co-workers.
  • To encourage and model service to the community.

United We Care

You'll be quick to realize we're one family dedicated to our guests – and to each other. That's why when life's most challenging times strike, the United team works together to provide our family with help when it's needed most.

United We Care is a special emergency fund created to assist team members when unexpected serious events occur – such as sudden medical costs, accidents or traumatic events. When tragedy strikes, a board made up of team members decides the level of assistance someone may receive.

As a team member, when you voluntarily enroll in United We Care, you're donating one dollar per week out of your paycheck to our special team member assistance fund. That's only twenty pennies per day – an amount you will hardly miss but enough to make a huge difference in someone's life. The United family has started the fund with $50,000. With team member contributions, we'll help ensure the fund is here for today and tomorrow.

Get A Message From Our Guests!

Just wanted to tell you how grateful we are that your company allows early voting in your stores. It is so helpful to be able to make one stop, vote and shop for groceries after work. Thanks for all you do for the community.

Found everything I wanted--and more--as usual. Everything was great and when I got home there was a message from a store manager letting me know that the apples that I looked for a few days ago were in. Not many companies respond to their customers the way United does. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for being closed on Easter Sunday. We love your store in Colleyville, Texas, and the people who work there (especially Charlie) and will continue to shop at a place that values their employees so highly.

You have a great selection of unique products. Your store has great friendly customer service. We want to keep coming back when we go to Abilene.

Today was my first visit to your Market Street Location in Plano, Texas, and WOW was I impressed! The building and layout is very crisp and clean, but I was most impressed with the people working there.

Everyone we came in to contact with was very friendly and offered to help, they also mentioned how much they loved working there. Whatever you're doing keep it up, I will definitely return - nice work!

I just wanted to let you know that your store on Judge Ely Blvd. in Abilene,Texas, has the friendliest, most helpful staff of any store I have ever been in.

It never fails that anytime I go in there which is two to three times a week, that I am greeted by every employee that I pass, asking me how I'm doing, thanking me for coming in and doing it all with a smile. I know that is not coincidence and has to be a concerted effort on your company's/manager's part.

I just wanted to let you know it is working and appreciated. Amazing that such a small thing can make such a difference in someone's day. Please pass along my thanks and gratitude to all the employees at this store.

Sometimes it is difficult to take the time to write and express our thoughts. My family moved to Allen one year ago from Tampa, FL. We thought that Publix Supermarkets in Florida embodied the very bestin customer service and quality/cleanliness.

Certainly our move here, kept that intact with your competition not up to par. But, once we experienced Market Street, we knew that your team far outshines your Texas competitors. I still cannot get used to the personal attention paid to us at the checkout and the complementary service to the vehicle. Your stores are also fresh and clean and organized.

I keep an eye on the experience in retail chains, and Kroger, (Walmart), Tom Thumb and etc. do not compare. I also like the fact that management will consider bringing a product into stock by request. Try that at the competition. Thanks.
