United Supermarkets and Guests Work Together For
Hunger Relief in 12 North Texas Counties

Food and monetary proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Wichita Falls Area Food Bank

WICHITA FALLS, TX – Beginning today, all six Wichita Falls-area United Supermarkets stores will accept food and monetary donations as part of the “U Can Share Food Drive,” with all proceeds benefiting local food banks.

The joint effort of United team members and store guests runs through Nov. 19 and will contribute to hunger relief for families served by the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank and United Samaritan Services of Vernon.

“Several of the food banks that serve our communities have experienced some bumps in the road in their hunger relief efforts this year, and we believe we have a responsibility as a member of those communities to do everything we can to make that road smoother,” said Mark Yowell, regional vice president of United Supermarkets, LLC.

During the drive, store guests may drop their food donations at any United Supermarkets or Market Street location in the Wichita Falls area, or simply add a cash donation to their purchase during checkout. Participating stores include all three locations in Wichita Falls, along with Burkburnett, Vernon and Graham.

“We’ve been a part of the Wichita Falls area for more than 60 years, and we are happy to come together with our guests to support such worthy partners as our area food banks,” Yowell added.

In addition to participating in the “U Can Share Food Drive,” guests of United stores in the Wichita Falls area also can help contribute to local food banks by purchasing any Full Circle product identified by a “Complete the Circle” shelf label.

Through the “Complete The Circle” program, United will match guest purchases of its Full Circle™ line of products for the next year with a donation of an equal amount of food to area food banks. The company match equates to 4,000 pounds of product for each of its 50 stores, for a total of 200,000 pounds.
