New Program at United Supermarkets/Market Street
Will "Complete The Circle" for Area Food Banks

LUBBOCK, TX – A new program now in place at 47 locations of United Supermarkets and Market Street could result in a donation of 200,000 pounds of food to food banks serving the company’s trade area.

Through the "Complete The Circle" program, the company will match guest purchases of its Full Circle™ line of products for the next year with a donation of an equal amount of food to area food banks. Although the company’s three Amigos locations do not carry Full Circle™ products, United will match up to 4,000 pounds of product for each of its 50 stores, for a total of 200,000 pounds.

The donation will be made near the end of the 2011 calendar year.

"The partnership between United and our area food banks is very important to us, and our store guests have always been a vital link in that partnership," said Wes Jackson, chief merchandising officer of United Supermarkets, LLC. "This new effort strengthens that partnership while encouraging our guests to try our Full Circle™ products, which promote a healthy, well rounded lifestyle."

From organic fruits and vegetables to all-natural pasta sauces, Full Circle™ represents the very best nature has to offer, Jackson said.

"Full Circle™ uses the finest possible ingredients, which are minimally processed and always free of additives, artificial colors and artificial ingredients," he added.

Full Circle™ products are marked by "Complete The Circle" shelf talkers throughout the 47 participating store locations.
