United Supermarkets Pharmacies Expand
Services This Cold, Flu Season

‘Free to Feel Better’ program incorporates free antibiotics, prenatal vitamins

LUBBOCK, Texas (Oct. 12, 2009) - As a complimentary service, United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United pharmacies are expanding the grocer’s whole-health commitment to its guests by offering free antibiotics and prenatal vitamins to help weather the cold and flu season through its “Free to Feel Better” program.

“We’re proud to offer guests some relief from the burdens and pressures the cold and flu season can bring as well as the other medical necessities throughout the rest of the year,” said Tim Purser, business director of pharmacy for United Supermarkets, LLC. “In addition to filling prescriptions while United guests shop, our pharmacy staff is trained and ready to answer questions about vitamins, supplements, diabetic supplies and medications.”

The “Free to Feel Better” program covers 60 of the most prescribed generic antibiotics and up to a year’s worth of prenatal vitamins at no cost in an effort to help guests obtain the medications needed to feel their best. A valid prescription is required.

“We’re so happy to be able to offer all of our guests a way to get the prescription medications they need without having to reach into their pocketbooks or go out of their way,” Purser said. “At United we really focus on the total health of our guests, from their diet to common medical needs, and the ‘Free to Feel Better’ program serves as a great resource for families in our United communities.”

Guests can take advantage of the “Free to Feel Better” program at any United location. United does not require guests to transfer other prescriptions to its pharmacy to take advantage of the program.
