United Supermarkets Upgrades Web Tools to Enhance
Guests’
Experience Inside and Outside the Store
Grocer improves features like online prescription refills, shopping lists, floral orders
LUBBOCK, Texas (Sept. 28, 2009) - United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United guests and fans now can enjoy newly enhanced online capabilities at each store’s respective Web sites thanks to a new partnership with MyWebGrocer.
United Supermarkets recently launched user-friendly features that enable guests to get more out of their United Web experience to help create a better, more enjoyable instore shopping experience. Site guests can take advantage of the new enhancements to online materials like streamlined prescription refills, interactive weekly circulars by store location, online catering orders, gift card purchases, floral orders, video cooking tutorials and in-store promotions.
United Supermarkets will utilize a complete suite of online tools from MyWebGrocer and ePharmacy designed to help enhance all aspects of guests’ online experience and will continue to roll out new and innovative features as the site progresses.
Over the past year, United Supermarkets and Market Street West Texas have expanded their online presence for guests through popular social networking tools like Facebook and Twitter. Daily updates allow guests to stay connected with store happenings as well as receive and pass along links to coupons, in-store specials and discounts.
“At United, we want to make our guests’ online experience just as enjoyable as their in-store experience,” said Randy Crimmins, vice president, marketing at United Supermarkets, LLC. “With our enhanced Web features like an interactive weekly circular, online prescription refills and gift card purchasing as well as updates to Facebook and Twitter, we’re going beyond our store aisles and reaching out to our guests with a new medium that brings added convenience and new ways to save. We’ve seen a great response from our guests and they seem to really enjoy taking advantage of all these new capabilities, and that’s a trend we’d like to continue.”
One of the more popular features in United’s new online suite is the interactive weekly circular that gives guests a friendlier approach to keeping track of the specialty items, whole-health/gourmet products and produce they love. One-click shopping lists allow guests to quickly add items from the circular or any number of United’s savory recipes onto their unique shopping list and print it for their next shopping trip. The new
circular features also give guests the ability to learn more about individual food items, easily print online coupons and receive notifications when their favorite items go on sale, all before they leave for the store.
Additionally, United’s enhanced online pharmacy gives guests access to refill prescriptions anytime. Online guests simply fill out an online refill form and the request is sent directly to the pharmacy location of their choice to be filled.
With online catering, United guests can easily customize and order cakes and pastries ahead of time. In addition to baked goods, guests can order party platters and full-course meals from the delicatessen, seafood and meat departments, allowing the host more free time to concentrate on the fun.
