Donation To The Haven Animal Care Shelter
LUBBOCK (special) - PEDIGREE® Brand and United Supermarkets have joined forces to provide a donation of $2,010 to The Haven Animal Care Shelter in Lubbock to recognize its heroic efforts on behalf of homeless dogs.
Heather Newberry, grocery coordinator for United Supermarkets LLC, recently presented the check on behalf of the two companies to Dr. Brenda Wilbanks, executive director of The Haven.
The donation was made possible through PEDIGREE® Brand dog food and treat displays in United Supermarkets stores this year.
The Haven is a nonprofit, no-kill shelter for abandoned, ill and injured animals founded by Dr. Brenda and Joe Wilbanks. In addition to many special needs animals, such as those with chronic illnesses or the elderly, The Haven also shelters a wide variety of adoptable dogs and cats in need of homes.
