LUBBOCK (special) - United Supermarkets will convert its fuel stations to the
Phillips 66 brand of gasoline beginning next week.
The nine fuel stations in the Lubbock area will be converted immediately,
beginning with Market Street at 50th and Indiana on Tuesday. Lubbock locations will
continue through Thursday, followed by Slaton and Plainview on Friday and Levelland
on Monday (June 23).
Amarillo area stores will be converted the week of June 23-27, and the remaining
stores - in Snyder, McKinney and Wichita Falls - will be converted the week of June 30-July 3.
"ConocoPhillips is striving to highlight Phillips 66 as its premier brand in West
Texas," explained Chris Bridgford, director of fuel operations for United Supermarkets,
LLC. "Because our company is committed to providing our guests the very best value
possible, converting to the Phillips 66 brand is a logical step."
United has been a ConocoPhillips partner since February 2005, having previously
sold unbranded fuel since opening its first fuel stations in 1997.
"This conversion will still allow us to offer the ConocoPhillips ProClean gasoline
and afford us more promotional opportunities, such as their current Gas For Life™;
promotion," Bridgford said.
"This move also solidifies Phillips 66 as the dominant branded supplier in
Lubbock and West Texas."
United Supermarkets currently operates a total of 20 fuel stations among its 47
stores.
